Lesson 11-12: Target Setting

Starter: Descriptive language!
Using the descriptive language sheet - choose one keyword that describes your peers work...


Lesson Aims: To continue working on development of initial ideas by creating further studies that connect to your jenga literacy targets.

Assessment Objectives: AO1/ AO2 / AO3 


Lesson Objectives (During this lesson we will): 
1. Reflect on one another's work and highlight strengths through descriptive language
2. Select keywords to inform your initial responses
3. Set yourself clear and manageable targets and a checklist for the rest of the week
4. Continue responding to your own imagery through a variety of chosen techniques and media
5. Participate in a peer review / receive 1-1 teacher feedback on work.
Extension: Experiment with 1 new App on a smart device: WordSwag and Fused.


TASKS:

Jenga Literacy:
In groups one at a time select keywords until everyone has 4 keywords or the jenga tower falls...

Target Setting/Setting deadlines:
Set yourself a target for today's lesson and for the rest of the week. Use your jenga literacy words as your focus within your artwork in addition to connecting to your responding to an artist sheet!


Learning Objective:
Reflect on your targets and set yourself a realistic and achievable objective for todays lesson...


Initial Responses:
Reflecting on your own set targets continue with further experimentation and development of initial responses. Are you on track to meet your targets?


Extension ideas:
Complete a series of creative drawing techniques exploring line and tone:

• Pencil held down (or pen!)
• Smudge (ink  / pen and water)
• Linear / Contour
• Opposite hand
• Blind
• Upside down drawing
• 2 pencils same hand / 2 pencils different hand
• Cutout line work (stencil)
• Overlaying multiple lines with different mediums
• Ink & bleach / acrylic wash with pen
• White pencil / chalk on black paper
• Tonal paint on top of photograph
• Brown paper with white acrylic and biro
• Transfers - Sellotape / Acrylic
• Monoprint / Linoprint / Drypoint

Plenary: Peer Review!
Go back to your original partner and swop work again. Read and reflect on their set targets and learning objective. Mark from 1-10 on effort with regard to quantity and quality from today's lesson:


Homework:





1. To create a further 3 initial responses 

2. To mount initial responses and complete statement of intent (typed).

3. Experiment with min of 1 technique: posca pens, pinholes, creative backgrounds or digital Apps.

Deadline: 1st lesson w/c 7th March!
